Top 8 Independence Day Songs

When I started looking at my favourite Independence Day songs I quickly realized that there is no such thing as a top 5, 6 or even top 10 list.  There are way too many songs out there that really grab the spirit of America.  So, I picked one song from each genre of Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Country, Classical and 3 that I think stand out above all the rest, the Red, White and Blue.

Rock

Honourable Mention

  • Kid Rock – Born Free
  • Jimmi Hendrix – Star Spangled Banner

Pop

Honourable Mention

Really, I had to dig deep to find one “decent” pop song, but my kids loved Miley back in the day and she’s a product of Disney.  There are no other mentions in this genre.

Hip-Hop

Honourable Mention

Not a chance…this is the only one there is.  Seriously, listen to the lyrics.  You could write a book report about Paul Revere after listening to this tune :/

Country

Honourable Mention

This will make up for the last two categories.  There is no shortage of great country songs and artists that really hit the patriotic message.

  • Toby Keith – Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue
  • Lee Greenwood – God Bless the USA
  • Billy Ray Cyrus – Some Gave All

Classical

Honourable Mention

Any song of the United States Military.

Red (3 rd Place)

White  <- You can’t see it, but it says White in White (2nd Place)

and BLUE!
